Depending on the caterer you choose for your wedding reception, you’ll likely have a wide variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts to choose from. At Stillwater Event Center, your meal will be taken care of by Scheel’s Catering, who has a large menu full of delicious meals. Here are a few tips to help narrow down your choices:
Style of meal
Each meal style has its own pros and cons, so it’s really up to you and what you’d prefer. With a buffet-style, guests can help themselves to whatever they like and how much. Similarly, you could opt for attended stations so your guests can select what they want, but staff will serve them. A plated, sit-down dinner means that staff will prepare each plate and deliver them to the tables.
Keep the season in mind
If you’re getting married in the summer, you and your guests will want a cold, refreshing appetizer, like salad. With Scheel’s Catering, you can choose between having a salad bar or selecting one of the salads off our menu, which includes pasta salad. For winter weddings, opt for something warm for both the appetizer and main dish.
It’s nearly impossible to select something all guests will like, but to be safe, you can choose dishes well-known and loved. Buffet-style meals typically include two main dishes, so if guests don’t like one, they have a second option. And even if they’re not a fan of the hearty part of the meal, they can load up on sides and desserts!
If budget is your main concern, we’re happy to help you choose the more affordable options on the menu. Everything Scheel’s Catering makes is delicious, so don’t be worried about the quality. Cheaper doesn’t mean it won’t be just as tasty!
Want to wow your wedding guests? Serve up something they’ll never forget! When was the last time you attended a wedding that had cinnamon & sugar pastry puffs or cheesecake cherry bars? These can be served alongside your wedding cake or cupcakes if you prefer to bring in a main dessert.
We’re dedicated to making sure you enjoy every part of your special day, and that includes the food! The most important tip for choosing your wedding meal: make sure it’s something you enjoy.
